  1. I have read with great interest your site about the Kashubians. My father was a Kashubian who came to England in the later part of WW11. He died in 1977 and we only discovered our true heritage after my Mother died in 1999 when going through some papers. Like so many Poles he did not speak about the war and did not want us to speak the language. Since 1999 I have been trying to research my family history on his side and have been able to determine that my Grandfather was born In Kielno and his father too. Not much I’m afraid. We do not have a following of Polish Heitage in the UK as you do in America as most Poles came over during the war and stayed but talked very little about their homeland, also very few of these older people are left now. Of course we have many young Poles that have came here the last few years but those who I have spoken to know little or nothing about the Kashubians. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to discover more from your website and I hope to be able to visit Poland again in the near future.
