The Saint John’s Bible comes to the Polish Museum
Are you interested in Sacred Scripture? Do you love art? Impressed with human accomplishments? Want to enliven your Bible Study group or get a head start on your Religious Education classes? Come and see the Saint John’s Bible! From August 5th through August 24th, the Polish Museum is the place for you. During that time you’ll be able to admire the monumental accomplishment of St. John’s University. We will host an exhibit of 25 artistic prints made from the illustrations illuminating their recently completed mission of hand-copying the entire Bible. The display features a narrative about how the project was put together from start to finish, by Linda Orzechowski. In conjunction with this exhibit, we will present in the second floor Diocesan Museum a selection of versions of the Holy Writ selected from our extensive collection. August 15th will be the date of our formal presentation of the Saint John’s Bible Exhibition, from 12 pm to 4 pm. It is the Liturgical feast day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven and the Harvest Feast. Please join us for the blessing, luncheon, and presentation (open to the public) of the Saint John’s Bible at the Polish Museum’s Morrison Annex – 363 East Second Street.
