- BASE OF OPERATIONS: If you are going to visit Kashubia, your base of operations will almost certainly be Gdansk. Gdansk isn’t really a Kashubian city, but there are plenty of interesting things to see and do there, and from Gdansk you can get to anywhere in Kashubia you want to visit, by train, bus, or private car.
- GETTING THERE: You can count on a 15-23 hour flight to Gdansk, with two (usually) stops, in either direction. A shorter trip is not necessarily better, because anything less than a two hour layover is pushing it. You can easily book your flight on Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, or Priceline, or directly with the airline.
- LODGING: There are lots of hotel choices in Gdansk, to suit all comfort levels and budgets. TripAdvisor’s Gdansk Hotels page is a good place to compare hotels and prices. The TripAdvisor Gdansk Forum is also a great place to ask questions.
- GUIDES: You will probably need the services of a guide to give your bearings around Gdansk, and you will definitely need a guide to help you set up a tour of Kashubia. But you will not need a guide to enjoy the famous Kashubian Polish hospitality. Nor do you need to know any Polish. All you have to do is be ready to have fun exploring your Kashubian Polish heritage!
